Attendance

At Grove Lea Primary School we work hard to monitor and track attendance.  If a child is absent and we have not heard by a parent/carer by 11am we will ring to ask where the child is.  If no contact can be made another phone call will be made to another adult on the contact list.  If we still can not obtain information why the child is absent we will contact the Educational Welfare Officer for further advice.  We have a statutory duty to safeguard all our children.  If your child is away on holiday or absent due to ill health it is imperative you contact the school as soon as possible.

The Head, Deputy and Assistant Head Teacher meet weekly with the Learning mentor to discuss attendance.

We thank you for your support.

We do not authorise holidays in term time. Please note that if your child/children have 5  or more days absence (these do not have to be consecutive days) over an academic school year a penalty notice will be issued. Proof of holiday bookings will also be required when completing a holiday request form.  Missing school results in missed learning opportunities and can also affect children's friendship groups.
